The Reds are looking to bring hitting back to Cincinnati. Unhappy with the output of Paul Janish, the team signed World Series MVP Edgar Renteria to a one year deal and exercised the option on Jonny Gomes. The team reached a deal with RHP Jared Burton and on January 10th signed Fred Lewis. The team also signed LHP Dontrelle Willis who should replace LHP Arthur Rhodes in the bullpen. Pitching coach Bryan Price is thrilled with the acquisition. "I know he hasn't been terribly successful over the last couple of years. But standing behind him and seeing what I see, there's nothing to suggest any issue with stuff or command."
The Reds pitching staff is solid with a starting rotation of Bronson Arroyo, Johnny Cueto, Homer Bailey, Edinson Volquez, Travis Wood and Mike Leake. The Bullpen consists of Francisco Cordero, Aroldis Chapman, Nick Masset, Bill Bray , Logan Ondrusek, Jared Burton and Daniel Ray Herrera. Be sure to get your tickets and support your Cincinnati Reds!
